Replacing Sponge

Replacing the sponge is a maintenance procedure that needs to be done once a week, or upon excessive sponge wear.

Always wear proper PPE (gloves and safety glasses) when coming in contact with materials.

To replace the sponge, undo the 3 M3 screws holding the lid in place under which the sponge rests.

Extract the worn out sponge and discard into hazardous waste.

Replace with a pre-cut sponge replacement provided in the Cleaning Station Service kit.

Verify that the top face of the sponge is at least 1/4 inch taller than the edge of the cup that holds it. To achieve that, you might need to stack 2 sponges on top of each other, depending on the sponge thickness.

Reattach the lid with 3 screws and tighten them.

Be mindful that the first time you introduce the solvent to the sponge it will take extra time to absorb completely.
